Is anyone getting "geared up" for the return of Saga? How about upcoming titles like Clone, Great Pacific, Happy, Lazarus, or Storm Dogs? Just want to share your love for an Image title or creator.....do it here!!

I don't know how many Speedsters out there read Image Comics.....but here's a rundown for those of you who may be interested in checking out the great many new titles from Image....
Saga - Still rocks! Easily the best new book of the year....of any publisher! Chapter 8 comes out in December, and the first trade is available (collecting the first 6 issues).
Great Pacific - An original concept about the island-sized trash heap in the Pacific Ocean....that now has it's own eco-system and a stranded guy trying to deal with it all. #2 comes out in December.
Clone - Imagine waking up one day and realizing you are a clone...because the guy laying on the floor bleeding in your kitchen is you....and so's the guy trying to kill you and him. #2 comes out in December.
Non-Humans - Bladerunner meets Toy Story meets iRobot....kinda. A cop trying to hunt down a serial killer, a drug-dealing teddy bear, and a teenager in a committed relationship with a Victoria's Secret mannequin. #2 comes out in December.
Storm Dogs - A criminal investigation team on a distant planet trying to track down the killer behind several murders...the planet's indigenous life is deadly....as is the rain. #2 comes out in December.
Planetoid - Marooned on a distant planet, a group of humans must fight the elements and killer robots to survive....and by the way, there is no way off the metallic heap thanks to the gravity fields. #5 comes out in late-December or early-January, then will go to graphic novel format (it's a 5 issue mini-series).

As some of you may have heard, there was a major "incident" involving app-banning of Saga #12 because of a couple "stamp-sized" homosexual images on the first couple of pages of this latest issue. Just wanted to let you all know to "not believe the hype".
Surprisingly, after having a giant One-Eyed Monster showing everything he has in full-frontal nudity, and several sex scenes involving the various characters in on-going story arcs, including The Will on Sextillion (a "pleasure" planet)....I'm actually surprised that one of Saga's issues wasn't "banned" before #12.
Sage is an "adult/mature" title, it's not for children or teens. That said, most of what you will see can be found on most television channels any day of the week.
Don't let this "hype" distract you from the greatness of this title. In my mind, Vaughan & Staples are creating the best comic book title in the industry....period. The story, the art, and the universe building that is ongoing in this title far outweighs any publicity for a couple of small images (that are in a dream, btw).

It looks like the initial problems were resolved. Comixology has come out to say that they initially banned the issue (not Apple) due to their misunderstanding of their ToS with Apple. Once that was cleared up and Apple said there was no problem, the issue was placed back on the site for sale. In the end it wasn't so much the homosexual nature of the scene as much as it was the actual depiction of, uh, the climax of the scene...to coin a phrase. All that being said, my LCS agrees with you that this is a great series - as both their sales and the value of issue #1 (presently going for $250.00) would indicate.

Saga's the only title I'm buying these days. I like it very much -- the universe building is definitely one of its strengths.

J. Michael Straczynski's new monthly from Image Comics is released today....Ten Grand!
From what I can tell in some advance reviews....it's an ex-mob enforcer who now fights "other-worldly" entities...Angels, demons, etc. Some other Comic Book sites have said that it is "what DC should be doing with Constantine."

I've not only read "Ten Grand" but I've also reviewed it...and the first issue at least is great! I do all my Flash related reviews at Speedforce.org, but I review non-Flash related DC titles and indie comics at TMStash.com. Here's a link to that review: www.tmstash.com/a-story-to-die-for-five-minutes-at-a-time-review-of-ten-grand-1-from-imagejoes-comics/We have taken on a lot of Image reviews there, along with some Boom! and Action Lab comics (and a little bit of Dynamite comics). I won't review issues that feature any Flashes at TMStash.com, which is why I haven't mentioned it earlier here. But, given the nature of this thread I wanted to throw that out there in case anyone wants to check that out.

Great Review (@ tmstash.com)!! I loved the first issue, and really enjoyed JMS's comments about Joe Comics and how he wants his titles to be presented (on the last couple of pages).
I'm pretty much hooked on this series after #1....

This awesome series just keeps getting better!! A touching moment and a great "evolution" in character for Lying Cat.....Sophie (a former child prostitute rescued by The Will, Gwendolyne, & Lying Cat) contemplates her life as any six year-old does. Lying Cat; up to this point thought to only "instinctively" say "Lying" whenever someone is less-than-truthful, lays in the grass half asleep/half listening to Sophie.
Sophie; after musing about future dreams, begins to share her feelings of being victimized. Although she is telling the truth about how she feels, Lying Cat says "Lying"..... reassuring her that all that happened was not her fault, and that she doesn't need to feel that way.
It was a touching moment for me, and left me teary-eyed the more I thought about it.....Lying Cat knows Sophie is telling the truth about how she feels, but chooses to say "Lying" out of a sense of love and care for her, to help her see that it doesn't have to be the truth. A wonderful "evolution" in character for Lying Cat!!
It also shows Brian K. Vaughn & Fiona Staples' willingness to tackle very tough issues. Don't get me wrong, it's entertainment and great fiction....but here & there they reveal ideas and theories that show they are not afraid to add some of their person to their work.
If you are not reading & collecting Saga, please take a few minutes to peruse an issue in your local comic book shop and fall in love with the best comic book in the Industry.
