I'm catching up on some other titles from the last few weeks, and noticed something in Aquaman #14 that bears repeating here. In it, Ocean Master refers to protecting a baby named......Garth.
This is the first mention I can personally recall in the New52 of one of our missing original Teen Titans. I don't know if this is something that just slipped by the editors, or if this is the first step toward re-introducing the characters...or if it is just DC Editorial playing some games with our heads. But, at least the name is out there now...the question being, does this (or should this) give any hope to those of us who would like to see Wally or Donna's names return to continuity? And, is this a way to reintroduce them (as babies) that would be acceptable in any way?
Honestly, I'm torn on that point...I would much rather see an adult Wally, or at least one old enough to take on the powers that he had in prior continuity. Anyhow, I look forward to hearing your takes on this development. What do you think?

Honestly, I think it is a stretch. DC has been pretty adamant that Wally is off the table for now (for a variety of reasons which all make sense). Garth, however, doesn't have that same passionate fanbase the way Wally does. It would be easier to bring him back in completely revised (how many would that make for him now, anyway?).
Plus, Geoff Johns is the guy writing it. Something tells me he can slip anything past editorial because, in the end, he out ranks them.
Wally will be back. It is just a matter of being patient.
