Injustice web comics have some of the best scenes for old time DC fans. #30 brings a young fellow talking about his meeting with the big old Boy Scout and what this meeting meant for him. Here are two scenes I loved. The first is one of the best I've ever seen with Superman. Almost as good as that with the suicidal kid on All Star Superman. That scene show just how amazing our good old Superman really was. He can break the robbers in thousand of pieces. Literally. But he prefers talk to them. He sees they are just good guys who made a bad choice and gives them another chance. Mates, I almost cried when I read it. Batman would just break their bones. Superman talks to them. He makes them give up the robbery. Then he comes back to visit the kid who is telling this story. He gave him a lift when the kid broke his bike and he tried to help, but made it worse. In the second scene, the kid watches the new Superman, who "does what needs to be done", and says he misses the true Superman. If this wasn't written probably months ago, I'd say it has something to do with the movie. I also prefer the old big blue boy scout. But I'm getting old (not so much, 31 actually). They're not writing Superman for people like me anymore. But I have this issue and things like All Star Superman to remind me of how great the old Big Blue Boy Scout can actually be. I don't know about all Star superman but there was a great scene with a would be jumper in Superman #701 during the Grounded storyline that really shows how great Superman really is.
