The premiere of The Flash on the CW network (at least in the USA) was everything I hoped it would be and more. This was an unapologetic comic book show, not some campy comedy and not a grim dark over-dramatic piece but a real comic book show that was fun even for folks who aren't long time comics fans. Grant Gustin channeled the essence of Barry Allen, and the few items that weren't strictly comics canon (like the costume variances) weren't enough of a distraction to take away from the fun. I watched this with my 25 year old son, whose experience with tHe Flash was mainly the Wally-era cartoons and who began the viewing with a lot of skepticism. The show has barely started when he said this:
"The first five minutes of this show is already better than anything I've seen on Gotham".
I like Gotham, but I have to agree - this show is better. Much better.
Still, it's YOUR opinions that matter here. What did YOU think about the show? Let us know in the comments - thanks!

This was hands down better than anything I've seen on Gotham or Arrow. In fact, I'd say this is the best live-action superhero show I've ever seen. But I do have a few complaints ...
I really do not care for the suit. I do like the explanation they gave for it, but I hope it'll eventually get destroyed so we can get a new, better-looking one.
I find it a little creepy for Barry to have romantic feelings for the girl he practically grew up with. Even though they're not related, I don't think anyone should want to date someone they've spent several years with growing up in the same house. And also, wasn't Barry in love with Felicity from Arrow? But then so was Oliver ... I guess this is just what the CW does — tons and tons of love triangles! I hope The Flash doesn't get too caught up in that.
The nine-month coma was too long. Not only for Barry, whose super speed could have pulled him out of it earlier, but also for all the other metahumans to reveal themselves, especially the Weather Wizard. What was he doing for nine months? That's a very long time. I wish they would have said nine weeks or something like that. Or maybe nobodies powers came into effect until after Barry woke up?
And finally, I have to complain about the Weather Wizard. Chad Rook is a very nice guy, always reaching out to fans on Twitter and at comic cons, but I could not stand his performance here. It was a bit cheesy and over-the-top for me, and I didn't like how he didn't show the faintest bit of surprise to see Barry display his super speed. But not all of this was Chad Rook's fault. The character was poorly written. He had no goals or motivations whatsoever. When Barry asked him why he was just robbing banks, all he could think to do was create a tornado outside of town. I was very happy when he was killed. Hopefully the real Weather Wizard will be better.
But other than that, the show is great. Grant Gustin is perfect, the special effects were decent, and overall tone was just what I'd expect for a Flash story.

The thing about Mardon that bugged me was the I Am God speech he made when West and Thawne went to Arrest him. He sounded l;ike he was reciting a Bray Wyatt Wrestling Promo ( Aside from that I loved the show. I have two iPads so I have the whole 1990 series on one and (now) the first two episodes of the second series on the other. i like to watch them side by side
