Okay, folks - we've seen a new take on Bart and it is certainly interesting. At least for now, there is recognition on Barry's part of a family tie (though that can change in the "future" - see what I did there?). There is a lot of familiarity in Bart's character, but we have the thrown-together costume and an uncertain origin for our "new" Kid Flash. So far, so good - at least that's my thought. What are your thoughts on our DCnU take on Bart?

I was apprehensive at first. I really dislike Brett Booth's art, the Starfire debacle was not winning me over to being a Lobdell fan, and Bart in issue one basically read like YJ!Animated Wally. However, his two scenes in issue two have convinced me to give him a chance. He reads like Bart generally should in a team book and his monologues/captions are recognizably him and not some half-assed Wally clone.
Still though, he's not the Bart I love. Then again, he hadn't been that for a long time until Gates wrote him. I don't think Lobdell gets him like Gates did, and somebody needs to educate him on how visual-spatial, ADHD kids think, because I can tell you one thing, it is not chopping up your sentences like this.
