I know what you mean man. I've only been into The Flash for the past year now but I've heard it that it makes me want to smack them in the face.

I am a really new fan, but I dressed up as the Flash at work on Halloween. (Flash hoodie. Yellow shirt underneath. Red skinny jeans. Yellow converse.) I was pretty much a crayola crayon. >.<
I told people I was the Flash, and all they could ask "Are you Flash Gordon?" I don't even know who that is!! hehe. I don't know...maybe I am more ignorant than them...not knowing who Flash Gordon is. >.>

Hasn't happened as much recently but I used to go to a Burger King and every time I walked in wearing my Flash Symbol T they'd be "Hey! Flash Gordon!"
Then, a year or so ago I was reading a Flash Comic and a co-worker asked if I liked the Flash Movie
"?!?!? There hasn't been a Flash movie yet. It's still in development hell."
"Yes there was! "Flash! Ahh Ahhhhhh!""
"Oooohh! no! that's Flash Gordon! totally different character!"
"Oh! ok!"
