Kelson had a very interesting article on Speedforce.org regarding the upcoming Earth 2 series. I'm taking more of a wait-and-see approach, hoping the series will be something special once we get past all the teasers and see the real issues. But, it does bring up a good question that I thought I'd turn over to you. First, here's the link to the article: speedforce.org/2012/03/earth2-jay-garrick-redesign/and now the question: Do YOU think Jay should be stuck on E2?

I think your link isn't quite right... That said. No. If DC feels that, for now, it is better to have Jay on another Earth, then let them have it. Sure, I like the legacy aspect of the Flash as much as the next guy, but who says that has to be the only way for Jay.

I fixed the link - embarrassed that I didn't double check that before leaving the post. For those who didn't see this earlier, the original link actually went to a somewhat LOL picture of a bear looking like it was quoting Shakespeare. However, the REAL link is important as it brings up thoughts regarding the E-2 Jay Garrick.
And I'll add some thoughts of my own. Unlike the more recent generation of readers, I grew up with Jay being a part of Earth 2, along with the rest of the JSA. In that aspect, this is more a return for me to an earlier time, though certainly the new uniform shows there will be differences between the upcoming series and what I read as a child. That may well be OK in the end, and I'll wait and see on this one, in hopes that the stories will be as good a quality as the present Flash series. If they can do that, I'll be fine.

I too grew up with Jay being on Earth-2 so I don't have any issues with DC putting him back there. But for the Wally generation (that is, readers who joined up and stayed during Wally's tenure), Jay is the mentor, the original guiding force. By DC bringing him back to Earth-2 and making him younger, that aspect will be sorely missed.

OK - here's the bear: As far as E-2, what little I know at this point seems to say that this will be a VERY different Earth 2, and that it will be very little like the E-2 I once knew, as well as very different to the combined Earth fans in the recent generation knew. Which simply takes me to....I hope the stories are good. That's really what it boils down to for me. If they write good stories I'll keep reading (and if I want my old stories I still have my collection to re-read). I do understand how other feel about this, though - even though I'm still taking that wait and see approach.
