Over at Comic Book Resources, there is a preview of Flash #8 that has a bit that is either very interesting, very upsetting, or both for Rogue fans. Looks like Turbine has a first name, and its...... Roscoe Is this the New 52 Top? Looks like its possible. Here's the link to the preview: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=12167Your thoughts?

Well I'm not at all happy, but it isn't much of a surprise. I'm clinging to the faint hope that maybe he fell into a Speedforce wormhole or something, was sucked into the past, and is just inhabiting another body as always. But I think it's far more likely that this is just a totally revamped character with a few details draped on him as a supposed homage. And it's a HUGE bummer to me when my mood hasn't been good for a while :\ (Thank you for your kind words at Tumblr, I greatly appreciate them )

I would be disappointed as well if they turn this into the "New 52 Top" but we'll just wait and see. As for the messages at Tumblr, you are most welcome!

Yeah, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime I'm pretty anxious about it

Does matter much to me, as long as he's interesting and offers The Flash a challenge....

Well, Buccellato confirmed it, Turbine is indeed a redone/replacement Top.
And Weather Wizard is now Marco Mardon.

Yep - saw on Twitter that first Manapul, then Booch confirmed it. My points still stand from the review of Flash #8, but I hope they will do something good with this eventually. Sorry not to see Roscoe in the New 52.

Well, it helped me to make a decision I've been dithering about for months -- I dropped the book today.

Sorry to hear that, though I do understand. This goes to something I've been saying since they first announced the sweeping changes that would come to be known as the New 52. I think the DC execs knew they were taking this risk, that some long-time fans would drop off - they were just hoping to draw in enough new fans that the overall result would be positive in the long run. But, the shame is in losing loyal fans.
The only thing I could add is that I had some similar feelings when CoIE hit back in the 1980's. I didn't like Barry's death being so meaningless (don't buy the retcon, folks, he was barely a blip in the storyline as the big death for that series was Supergirl at the time). And, I hated, absolutely hated limiting Wally to just the speed of sound (I still don't get that decision). I bought a few issues and dropped away for a long time.
Eventually, we got the Speed Force and a much better interpretation of the character, and I came back. Maybe someday they can move the storyline along in a way that will bring back the very long-time loyal fans like you. At least, that's what I hope will happen. As for now, though, I certainly understand how you feel.

I hope that one day I can come back -- it wasn't an easy decision, and not something I wanted to do. But at this point I don't really see it happening until there's another reboot or drastic change. Who knows, though.
