Man, there's no mind trickery here. Just good old fashioned brute savagery. That opening shot of Grodd and his father's......yeah, great way to set the tone.
The influence and connection with the Speed Force here is interesting. Combined with Turbine's testimony (hm, where did he land I wonder?) and there seems to be some form of consciousness at work here. Or maybe it's the gorillas' reactions and mythologizing that gives that impression. Either way, interesting new hook for Gorilla City.
All the fuss over Alan Scott yet Hartley is having a hard time with his own relationships. How will Elias react if Pied Piper shows up as well?
The art is, always, outstanding.

I agree with both of you, Great Review xBarryxAllen! The spin that Manapul & Booch put on Grodd's ascension is mind-blowing (if there's a pun, it's intended)! Absorbing the memories and thoughts of his predecessor is a unique way to give Grodd an almost super-intelligence and the Speedforce's influence on the Gorilla City civilization giving them an evolutionary jump forward.....brilliant!
I also like the direction that Barry doesn't know who he is at first, giving consequence to the Speedforce "jumps". I love that Manapul & Booch give consequences to The Flash's actions....making him really have to think about what he is doing, and what his actions may cause.
I wonder if the Speedforce "cave" is a pocket universe of sorts, and if the "growling" that Iris and her fellow lost comrades hear is it's own lifeform within that universe?.....I know that's a stretch, and I'm trying not to postulate any theories because I want to be blown away by whatever comes next....just wondering.

Thanks for the kind words, and for your take on Flash #9 as well. I agree that having consequences helps the storytelling in this volume of The Flash, and like you I'm wondering what that growling in the Speed Force holds in store for Iris and company. Like I've said before, I just can't wait for that next issue to come out!
