I haven't seen it yet -- still deciding if I want to go. TDK was too scary/intense for me (yes, I'm a huge wuss). How would you say this one's intensity level is compared to TDK's?

Without going into spoilers, the destructive events that the villains perpetuate are much higher on the "bad-o-meter". However, there are not nearly as many of them as TDK (Joker had another evil scheme to cause mayhem every five minutes whereas Bane really doesn't) and they are really sort of concentrated to specific portions of the movie as opposed to it consistently happening the way TDK was.
Also, while there is a "beat the clock" element in the final act the same way TDK has (and BB for that matter), I didn't find it nearly as edge of your seat intense as it was in TDK.
Then again, your mileage may vary.

It was the near-constant violence and tension that got to me in TDK. I don't know, I've heard some really mixed reviews about this one (and a bunch of jerks on the Internet deliberately spoiled some of it anyway), and haven't decided if I want to see it. But thanks for explaining, most people I asked about the tension level never answered.

Someone spoiled the Superman cameo and the fact that the true mastermind behind the entire events of the trilogy was the Joker's brother, aka the Riddler (played hilariously by Eddie Murphy)? Seriously though, if you are on the fence about it, I'd say wait for the DVD. Though, I have to say that Killer Croc appearance was pretty epic on the big screen.

Heh Well, my husband declared that he's going to see it regardless, so I might as well go. I wasn't sure he actually wanted to see it. A lot of friends who've seen it seemed to have mixed reviews, however.

I saw it and really enjoyed it, seems like there's an unwritten rule that 'threequels' are supposed to be awful, but I thought it was a really good movie and the other people in the cinema I went to seemed happy

Finally saw it today and enjoyed it. Wasn't too scary for me In slightly related news, a bat got into my bedroom the other day and flew all over the place.
