I was initially disappointed to see Francis Manapul didn't draw the whole issue, but then I got to the end with the speed mind visions. That more than made up for everything. Manapul never ceases to amaze me.

I was initially disappointed to see Francis Manapul didn't draw the whole issue, but then I got to the end with the speed mind visions. That more than made up for everything. Manapul never ceases to amaze me. Great Review! I; like dallinturner, found myself disappointed in the early artwork in this issue....but I didn't realize it was Marcus To until I finished and read the credits. To To's credit, his artwork is getting better....
What's amazing about this issue from the story point of view, is that really nothing happened. Grodd "charges down", and Turbine slings some rocks at him....oh, and Iris' brother gets caught. Everything else I can think of is filler. Not that it's bad or anyting, it's amazing that it was such a great issue....and didn't feel like a "filler" issue.
The last 9 pages left me speechless!! Breathtaking, I cannot think of a spread in any other comic book I've read in....as far as I can remember....as good, detailed, and beautiful as Francis Manapul's Speed Mind.
My only criticism of this issue, is what they did with Grodd. I did not like the "power drain", it felt "cheap". I'm hoping that they do Grodd "justice", he is a better villain than to be treated like that.

If you think about it, not really much happened in this issue. Grodd needs a Speed Force boost, the Rogues plan a breakout, and Danny West gets caught.
Oh yeah, and Barry has one helluva vision trip. ;D
But Manapul and Co. continue to ratchet up the tension and suspense so despite the lack of actual story progression, I'm eager to to see what happens next.
My only nitpick would be Elias. First, he helps to augment the Rogues. Now, there's reason to suspect his involvement with Grodd. Having been stabbed (maybe dead), they've left the motivations and real scope of Elias' dealings hanging. I hope they get back to detailing Elias' true motives and actions soon.
As for the Speed Mind, I'll post my thoughts of that in the other thread.

Still a great review, even if you are catching up. Thanks for linking us to it from here!
