According to the "George Perez Fan Page" on Facebook (which is actually run by George Perez), Carmine Infantino, one of the creators of Barry Allen (and, therefore, the Silver Age of Comics) has passed away.
Here is Perez's message:

Carmine Infantino was the artist of my youth. I would go to the local drug store (no LCS back then) and pay 12 cents for the adventures of my favorite hero, the Flash. He gave us Barry Allen, Wally West, the Rogues, and not just them...but Adam Strange, the Elongated Man and so many others. I was on the road tonight and had to pull over to write this post...this great artist brought us the Silver Age of comics and all that came after. A part of my childhood has gone along with his passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fans.
Somewhere in Central City, Barry Allen is shedding a tear...think I'll join him.
