Lots of things happened on this episode, but what really catched me was all the mom-killing story. Barry saw Zoom killing his mother (Johns wrote the episode, so it's not a surprise he used his version of this story). This is the basis of the future Flash series: Barry tries to know who was the "blur" that he saw killing his mother, and, by doing so, free his father. It's a good premise.
What do you think?

Personally, I loved that the back story was the one which Johns wrote. I feel it gives greater meaning in his search for "the vigilante" to help him find Zoom. I was a bit mad at how the writers teased us with Barry's messing with chemicals in the middle of a lightning storm though.

I actually enjoyed the chemicals with lightning — nothing wrong with a bit of teasing. As for the murder of Barry's mom? I think it was just a bit too on-the-nose. I get that it gives him motivation to track down vigilantes and super-powered individuals (or metas or whatever we're calling them lately). But I'm worried that the murder mystery has now become too obvious. Once Barry meets the Reverse-Flash, he should be able to figure everything out immediately, shouldn't he? But all in all, it was a very nice episode, and I enjoyed Barry's budding romance with Felicity — even if it did happen rather quickly.

I'm personally quite tired of the mom-killing aspect always being a part of Barry these days -- but in all honesty am just resigned to it now. It makes me roll my eyes every time, but doesn't get me angry or anything. That said, if they had to kill Nora again, it was pretty exciting to reference Professor Zoom right off the bat. Definitely unexpected, and does provide a good reason for Barry's interest in metahuman cases. I'm intrigued.

As I stated in another thread, after Five and a half years of Castle I'm done to death with the Mother's Murder mystery.
That said I really did enjoy the episode One wonders if this Miracle drug could also ne the basis for Venom as it is known in the Bat-verse I also like how Moira handled her dilemma with Merlyn.
possible spoilers below for those who haven't been watching....
(Interesting thing to note is that when I first realized that Merlyn was in the League of Assassins under Ra's Al Ghul, I half expected the undertaking to be one of Ra's plans as it was in keeping with the Ra's Al Ghu we met in the Dark Knight Trilogy and in how he dealt with "Corrupted" cities. finding out that Merlyn's plan to destroy the Glades was not sanctioned by Ra's was a surprise)
