I thought I should note that it's not like I don't care about the reboot stuff or don't feel like talking about it here. It's just that my feelings so far have been pretty overwhelmingly negative and I fear I'm becoming a broken record or annoying other people with it. Just FYI.
But I guess once I thought about it I don't really hate the new Weather Wizard look. It's very '90s though, and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Manapul seems to travel to more cons than he used to -- no doubt the result of getting a high profile job. Maybe he'll attend one near your neck of the woods. He's really nice and easy to talk to.
I want to see Scott Kolins someday, but he always seems to go to the same cons, and never Toronto.
I talked to Dan DiDio last August; turns out he's a Top fan ;D

The bio's groovy and it's nice to see it. Wish the revamped site was easier to navigate, though :\

Awww yeah Shakespeare bear! ;D Make him a supporting character in Earth-2, might cheer it up a bit.

For me it isn't just about Jay's new look. I've been finding the few details DC's been releasing about Earth-2 to just be...unappealing. But it is true I dislike the reboot in general and that may colour my opinions. And in all honesty, I don't like the concept of multiple earths, so obviously I'm not the target audience either.

Remarkably terrible and disappointing, though I could say the same about pretty much the entire reboot.

Yeah, writing 'Heat Wave' is surprisingly difficult for DC at times. I'm just wondering why that specific error has popped up twice within a week or so. Cary Bates was always bad with character names (among other mistakes, he sometimes had Patty called 'Pam'), so I wonder if Manapul or Buccellato has the same problem or if they've just decided to change Patty's surname.

That other interview made me feel better about the Turbine-replacing-the-Top worry, but this one's rekindled it again.
Also, whither Lisa, Blacksmith, and Magenta? There haven't been many female Rogues, but they certainly did exist.
And that's the second interview recently which referred to Patty as "Patty Spivak". Has her name been changed?

I honestly couldn't say. The ones who've written stuff I really liked have also all written stuff (or at least had aspects) I really didn't like. So I don't think I could pick a favourite, just name a few who I've enjoyed but have also annoyed me at times.

Love the cover.
And I'd have to go with Iris because I'm a traditionalist and still annoyed about the marriage disappearing, but I like Patty too. Ultimately, as long as the rebooted Flash continues to be so different from what it was before, I guess I won't really care.

Mirror Master will definitely be mine....if I can manage to get one from Mattel's site, that is. Otherwise the only way to get him will be via Ebay and conventions at a significant markup. I like that Jay and Atrocitus too, but they'll likely be too much of a headache to acquire.
At least Mattel's site sells to Canada now. They didn't for a long time.

Eh...can't say I have much interest so far. But I never got into Earth-2 to begin with, and don't think DC should have brought it back. I'd really rather see missing characters like Jay and Power Girl as part of Earth Prime (or whatever they're calling the main reality now).

Today's the first official day of Toy Fair 2012, and a Jay Garrick and Mirror Master were unveiled as part of the DC Universe Club (this is Mattel's subscription line, essentially the continuation of the DC Classics series). Great news if you subscribe to it...a bit of a problem if you don't. The only other way to get the figures is at the Mattel site on the day of release -- I've never done it, but am told it's a tricky competition. Other nifty news: the JLU line is briefly back from the dead after being cancelled a while back. One of the available figures is Vandal Savage. Anyway, here's an image gallery of the new figures: i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=album&album=2012_Toy_Fair%2FMattel%2F%2FDC%2F&start=20

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for linking to it!
I thought about making it longer or expanding on some points, but figured people would be more likely to read it if kept shorter. Hopefully it still works that way.
Personally, I'm quite happy using the Top theme, so I don't have any requests. But Trickster's blue and yellow might make a nice theme if you're keen to make more.

It was definitely a long time ago -- late '70s or early '80s, I'm thinking. He'd already gone back to villainy by the time I got started in comics in the late '90s, and it was pretty controversial then (I used to be exclusively a Marvel reader, but mostly the X-books). Asked my husband just now, and he says Sandman first reformed in 1982. This issue.

Maaaaaaan I hate lists being presented in slideshow format. Pet peeve, it takes so long to load. Most of the time I won't even bother going through the whole thing.
Surprised the Rogues ranked that high, though (pleased, but surprised). I'd quibble with Piper and Trickster being deemed some of the first villains to reform -- within the Rogues alone, Heat Wave reformed long before they did. And no, it didn't stick, but it arguably didn't stick with Trickster either. (Don't get me started on my feelings about Johns' the-Top-made-the-Rogues-reform retcon).
Anyway. When did Sandman -- the Spidey villain -- reform? I can't remember.
