Thank you very much I'd love to see this kind of story at DC, but sadly I don't think it's ever going to happen (except maybe in Morrison's Multiversity series). And generally comics pros don't read fanfic, as they're concerned about possible lawsuits in case they inadvertently copy something from a fic and get sued. It's nice to think about, though! Thanks for reading and commenting

My latest -- The Ties That Bind. This one co-stars Wally West alongside Roscoe Dillon, and since I don't write Wally very often I hope he was done justice. archiveofourown.org/works/999576

I guess Barbara wasn't very smart if she thought she could fight crime in tights but not get a run. Those things get runs if you look at them funny.

Honestly, I've never understood why people found Barry so bland before Crisis. You can argue that he was bland in the Silver Age, but frankly a lot of DC heroes were kind of bland back then. Under Cary Bates, Barry was a fairly dynamic character -- he cracked some jokes, was occasionally a jerk, expressed a lot of grief when his wife was killed, etc. He wasn't as lively as Wally was post-Crisis, but that's partly because he was a more reserved person and partly because DC was clearly trying to shake things up a bit. Wally was generally more reserved before Crisis as well.

I'm of the opinion, that Turbine will be one of those forgotten villains who may show up a few years down the road....AFTER they've established The Top as the premier "spinning" Rogue in the Flash franchise!! Then he'll show up and be killed by Top for trying to copy his M-O.
If that happens I will buy two copies of the issue. No -- three copies. I am publicly making this vow. Sorry Turbine: I would have liked you pretty well under other circumstances, but not under this one.

That article is terrible. Well, it is from Bleeding Cool, so that's a given. Ouch. Told. ;D

There was actually another Rainbow Raider between the Kents and Roy Bivolo (that guy appeared in Dial H) -- DC really dug the name, I guess. Anyway, it's not that I don't think Roy is silly, because he is. But not every villain has to be a terrifying badass, and as Ed says a) he was created in a different time, and b) he actually could be a terrifying badass. The guy could fly, shoot lasers that blew through stone pillars, mind control people and manipulate their emotions, drain people's energy and blind or sicken them, and turn invisible. I personally love that he's kind of a dork and goofy, and he's pretty popular in Rogues fandom for that reason. I wouldn't expect him to appear in the New 52, and would really prefer he didn't, because I know DC would only use him to kill off or make him gritty and extreme. That would be....depressing. Anyway, Roy is in the Scribblenauts game and that makes me happy

That article is terrible. The 1960s Rainbow Raider from Superboy was a totally different character -- in fact, it was Pa and then Ma Kent in disguise. The Roy Bivolo Raider was always intended to be a Rogue, and wasn't created until about 1980.

Thank you very much! It was an interesting to write, I don't handle Mick very often.
And thanks for reading it; virtually nobody else has :>

In the end it seems I may have been the only person to participate in Heat Wave Day :> No matter! Here's my very short fic -- it does contain some disturbing imagery, however. dillonmania.livejournal.com/8780.html

Aaargh, yesterday I learned of an amazing Golden Glider custom figure AFTER the auction had ended. It went for a fairly reasonable price and I definitely would have bid on it. Still kicking myself.

Loved Flashpoint Paradox!! Stayed true to the Johns' vision....and I'm betting that if Dillonmania watched it, she enjoyed The Top's cameo!! I sure did It's the first time he's ever gotten dialogue in an animated feature!

I'm slightly exasperated to see the 'mom murdered, dad framed for it' plot again, but I guess that horse left the barn years ago. Hope they handle it with a minimum of angst.

Thank you My next piece is also super-short -- I'll be posting it for Tumblr's Heat Wave day on August 10.
