Frankly, the Flashes in the past (and this might not be applicable anymore, because who knows what DC will do with their power levels after the reboot) were always grossly overpowered, IMO. Even DC acknowledges this to some extent when they opt to give the Rogues metahuman powers to make them a halfway decent threat, continuing an arms race to make characters increasingly more powerful.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of this. Overpowered characters are boring, and it becomes increasingly difficult to give them a credible threat when they can do almost anything. So while it still remains to be seen how this will play out, I don't really like Barry's new ability.

Peter David said it right when he said why he doesn't like writing speedsters, that done right, speedsters are nigh unstoppable. So where would the conflict come from?
This evolution makes sense to me but it also creates a fine line. It does appear as if he can 'see' into the future. Manapul says that is not the case, but even if he can think of all the possible actions and consequences, there's no way he can tell what will actually happen until he acts.
It's a big stretch for me.

The funny thing is that I thought of Marvel's Destiny when it was stated that Barry can see all possible actions and consequences, because that's pretty darn close to how her powers were frequently described. And she really was a precog

I can see that. That's the fine line I mentioned. He may able to visualize the possible scenarios but he can't know what will actually happen until he acts. There's no way he could have known if or when that kid would've noticed that dollar bill and ducked out of the way of that car. But that's how it was presented. I see what Manapul intends, but the presentation requires some tweaking.
