It was a strange thing to see a copy of All-Flash Quarterly #1 show up in Funky Winkerbean, but here it is: content.comicskingdom.net/Funky_Winkerbean/Funky_Winkerbean.20111127_large.gif For those who are not regular readers of the comic strip, the town is raising money to save the sports program at the local high school. Given the value of this issue (ComicsPriceGuide.com lists it at $30,000.00 US at a 9.4 grade, and up to $90,000 in mint condition - even in fair condition it could be several thousand US dollars), it could go a long way toward the effort, don't you think?

Tom Batiuk once did a strip (I don't remember if it was in Funky Winkerbean or Crankshaft) showing a character getting heavier, made to look like the classic Flash #115 cover. Edit: Found it! thefastestmanalive.blogspot.com/2009/01/funky-winkerbean.htmlAnd when looking at Silver Age letters pages I saw why: he was a Flash fan, and had a letter published in the Flash letters page at least once
