WARNING! THERE BE SPOILERS BELOW!

No, REALLY! SPOILERS!
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
OK, in recent posts we've been given a new look at the description of The Flash as no longer having Barry generate the Speed Force. NOW, we find out a brand new twist to his powers as The Flash:
Any time Barry approaches light speed he creates "time rifts", pulling things "into and out of our timeline" moving hem to other time periods across history. This is given as an explanation of the EMP blast that took out the power to the Gem Cities...that his vortex intended to stop the EMP blast in issue #5 caused the EMP pulse to go back in time and cause the blackout in the first place.
This led Dr. Elias to declare the Speed Force a danger to the very fabric of space and time...something that needs to be destroyed. Interesting twist...
Obviously, the Speed Force isn't going away anytime soon (read that as "not at all") so there is certainly more we'll learn about the Speed Force as the series continues. The point here is that the nature of the Speed Force (and Barry's powers) is certainly different than it was prior to Flashpoint. It certainly opens up a lot of storyline possibilities, and that is interesting to me. But, what do you think? Is this a good change for you? And...what would YOU do with this idea of a "killer" Speed Force?

Every time I flip open the cover of any of the "New 52" Flash issues, I am so overcome with the jaw-droppingly awesome artwork that Manapul & Buccellato could tell me that the Speed Force generates French Vanilla coffee creamer and removes vowels from sentences and I'd be....."ahhhhh! The art is sooooo great! French Vanilla & no 'E's....that's cool, dude! Look, they tell a story just by drawing his name....so beautiful! (getting teary-eyed)"
Seriously though, Dr. Elias is making a theorized statement which has yet to be proven....so it always gives Manapul & Buccellato the "out" of whatever they have planned with it.
