I decided to create this thread to discuss the haphazard colouring that Bart has to put up with.
It really annoys me when colourists continuously get it wrong. Bart has brown hair and gold eyes, it's really not that hard to get right and in all honesty it's their JOB to get it right.
The worst mistake I've seen a colourist make is the colourist of Superboy who coloured Bart's hair bright, pumpkin orange. That is a huge mistake on behalf of the colourist that could have easily been avoided if they had done some research. The colourist of Red Robin #20 making his eyes green was rather annoying as well.

Too bad Mark Waid isn't still around, he would have brought Hypertime back into the mix and the green-eyed Bart Allen could have been from an alternate timeline... A Dark Kid Flash if you will.

Oh that would have been fabulous! He could have also fixed the mess that DC made of Inertia while he was at it and used a clone to explain it away See in my head canon the Inertia from Impulse and the Inertia from post-Mercury Falling are two completely different people. The former is the original Thad while the latter is a new clone, who has been created to be more ruthless and 'get the job done right' (I've named this clone Tad due to a spelling error in FMA). It's the only way I can explain away what's happened to the character in the past couple of years. It's something I can see President Thawne doing too and it could make for a good story and as I said it would be a great way to explain away what they've done to Thad and Bart who have both had haphazard characterization the past few years. Either that or we could just say Bart's trolling everyone by dying his hair orange and wearing contact lenses.

Haha yeah, Bart's appearances in Superboy are incredibly aggravating for that very reason.
I actually dislike all the art in that title, but Bart's Wally-hair is the worst.

I don't enjoy much about that title. The art is bad, the colouring is horrible and I'm not too fond of the writing. The only reason I got it is because I have this need to have all the comics Bart's in, no matter how bad I think they are. XDXD. The tendency for people to colour Bart like Wally is REALLY annoy to me, sometimes it's like they're trying to turn him into a Wally clone!

The best writing of Superboy/Kon-El was that brief stint in Adventure Comics when Johns & Manapul were working on the title. I don't normally collect any of the Superman family of titles but I picked up issue 3 of Adventure Comics for Red Robin/Tim Drake's cameo. The story was good, the art was exceptional and that's also one of my favorite comic book covers.

Yeah, the reason I'm following that title is because I like Kon and his run in Adventure Comics was awesome enough to keep me going. Dunno how much longer it'll be before that momentum dies, though.

Francis Manapul has really emerged as one of my favorite artists... I love the work he did in Adventure Comics, I dig his work in The Flash and I've enjoyed the few covers he's done for Red Robin. Bur as much as I enjoy his work in The Flash, I actually prefer the way he draws Red Robin & Superboy over the way he draws Barry as the Flash. For the Flash I think I'd prefer Scott Kolins or Ethan Van Sciver (well, if he could devote himself to getting the art done on time, that is) to do the artwork. Van Sciver's covers for ReBirth were brilliant. After (or even during) Flashpoint I wouldn't mind seeing Manapul take over as the artist for Red Robin and/or Superboy and Kolins or Van Sciver become the regular artists for The Flash.
