Flash #16 solicitation

Thanks to Newsarama for this from the Justice League group of solicitations for January 2013. The text is VERY interesting:

• The Flash takes Grodd into the Speed Force in a last-ditch effort to defeat the mad gorilla! And...he loses?!
• Plus: The Rogues, the introduction of a major villain and a look at the one and only date between Barry Allen and Iris West in The New 52!

OK - the cover art previously released did seem to indicate that Barry was taking Grodd into the Speed Force...but the idea that he loses makes this even more interesting. What happens next?

And, the idea of the ONLY date with Iris...that could be a flashback in this issue. Otherwise, this will be certainly a highly controversial topic moving forward. Guess we'll have to wait for the issue to come out to find out more.

A couple of thoughts here:

Losing could mean a variety of things. If we've seen anything about the Speed Force so far, it's that if you make any mistake there, you end tossed about in time. Maybe Barry ends up in a different time period, maybe even....

...his one and only date with Iris. That's why we witness it. Maybe he rescues Iris and they both end up stranded somewhen. Maybe it's just my optimism, but I read a big 'SO FAR' in that date statement. Their first date, perhaps not their last......

After re-introducing the Rogues, it'll be good to see the next new villain Manapul and Co have up their sleeves.
