Does anyone have a wish list for casting of the Flash movie?
My wish list would be:
Paul Walker or Chris Pine for Barry Allen/The Flash
And I don't know which rogue they'll be featuring but if it's Professor Zoom/Eobard Thawne I'd like to see Paul Bettany play the part.
If it's Mirror Master I think Tom Hollander would be an interesting choice.
For Captain Boomerang I think Russell Crowe or Clive Owen would be solid choices.
Iris would have to be an actress who can pull off strong and driven but most of the actresses I can think of who fit that bill would be too old to play the part (Cate Blanchett or Tilda Swinton have the perfect personalities and experience playing those kinds of roles-- but appearance/age wise they don't fit at all!)

I think Bradley Cooper would make a good Barry Allen or Neil Patrick Harris.

I'd have to second the idea of Neil Patrick Harris for Barry. He has the right look, and certainly has the talent to play just about any role he wishes to take on.

I too used to be firmly in the NPH camp as well. I do concur that Neil Patrick Harris has "the look" and I believe he could play the part but I don't think they'll cast him because I think the studio (rightly or wrongly-- you decide) might think that people will associate him far too much with his Barney Stinson character on How I Met Your Mother or his portrayal of himself in the Harold & Kumar movies... neither of which are anything like Barry Allen. That being said-- what about Paul Bettany as Eobard Thawne... any other takers on that idea?:   |

I think it would be cool if John Wesley Shipp made a cameo as Jay Garrick. ^This I heard a similar ideas proposed back in 2005 or so when David Goyer was still involved and the movie was going to be about Wally not Barry. Someone suggested combining Barry & Wally's origin stories a little. Having Wally reading a Flash comic featuring Jay Garrick and imagining the Flash. The film could actually show Wally imagining Garrick as the Flash as he's reading the comic rather than merely just showing him read the comic. Their casting suggestion for Garrick was Robert Patrick though. I like the John Wesley Shipp casting idea better. |
