I Must admit, I was worried this show would be similar to Smallville in tone but I was pleasantly surprised they made it darker, I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes so I'm going to keep watching it for now

I am! I LOVE IT!!!!!! My roommate and I got into Archery in college (Around the time Robin Hood Prince of Thieves came out) we used to shoot behind the dorm behind an old tennis court (no one ever played tennis) and our campus was practically deserted anyway. (at least, our corner of it was) we'd shoot behind the court (underneath in the photo) and towards the trees (left to right)

So far, I like it. I am curious to see how long they are going to keep the "criminal of the week who happens to be on Oliver's list" formula. I really miss "Smallville" (yeah, I liked it, warts and all), and I feel this might be able to fill that void.

I watched the Pilot on CW's site, and am trying to catch up on the other episodes....but I was impressed, and ratings seem good!
I like the darker tone of the series, and they've seemed to make Green Arrow "cool"....now, if only the comic book could follow that theme!

So far, I've thoroughly enjoyed this show. This Ollie is certainly darker than Justin Hartley's Ollie from Smallville. But I do like how they've established his mission, cleaning up after his father's enemies and mistakes; it's keeping in line with Ollie's general mission of helping the average man.
The family dynamic is interesting as well as his burgeoning relationship with Laurel. What I like best is how they continue to use flashbacks to show what happened on the island, even the ways those flashbacks enhance what is going on in the story now.
Terrific show so far.

I hope they forge out some sort of "present day" story arc. I'm sensing they will given the way last week's episode ended, but are still setting the scene for the series.

It seems to be following a format of one-&-done story which builds the main characters in the viewers eyes, while have an underlying tone and a few scenes that are building into an overall story arc for the season.
I think this is proper for a first season on any television show....I'm loving the show, and have caught up on all the episodes. I sure hope they don't try to fit Diggle into a Speedy costume...lol.

There was a cute and less-than-subtle reference to the Flash on tonight's episode.
In it, Laurel's mother is leaving, and she says to her "I'm taking the red eye to Central City. Should get there in a flash!"
I laughed at the line. Sounds like something that would be more at home in Smallville, but I appreciated it none the less.

Maybe we see Barry Allen on Arrow some day, but not the Flash. One of the series producers once said they would never show the most powerful heroes, as Superman or the Flash, but they were thinking on showing Hal Jordan before he gets his ring, once Hal is Ollie's best friend on comics. I believe they could show also Barry before the lightning, as the best forensic scientist that Central City has. Ollie would travel to Central City to solve one of his cases and end up with Barry hunting him. It could show some beloved supporting characters, as Patty and Iris, maybe even Captain Cold or the Trickster. It would be great. Who do you think should be Barry and Hal on Arrow? My suggestions: Jensen Ackles as Hal Jordan Armie Hammer as Barry Allen

Yeah, terrific line. Loved how she said it in a deadpan manner.
Also love that the main prison around or near Starling City is Iron Heights.
