ok... pretty simple game pick a storyline from any run of the Flash and select a voice cast to play the parts of the various characters The Return of Barry Allen based on the original story by Mark Waid in Flash 74-79 Wally West/ Flash: Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville, Justice League) Barry Allen/Prof. Zoom: Neil Patrick Harris (Justice League New Frontier) Linda Park: Linda Park (Star Trek ENTERPRISE) Hal Jordan: Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle) Jay Garrick: Bruce Greenwood (STAR TREK, Young Justice) Max Mercury: Ted Danson (CHEERS, CSI) Johnny Quick: George Eads (CSI, Justice League) Handsome Jack Giacamo: Tim Curry (Three Musketeers, Clue) Pied Piper: Alan Tudyk (Firefly, I, Robot) Combine Leader: Clancy Brown (Highlander, Superman TAS)

I like the cast you've picked out...I keep hoping they would case Neil Patrick Harris as Flash in a live action movie, as he seems to be the perfect Barry. And, Nathan Fillion as Hal would also be absolutely perfect. I look forward to seeing some more stories and casts added to this thread - great idea!

In much the same way that Kevin Conroy IS the voice of Batman, I take it we all can agree that Michael Rosenbaum IS the voice of Wally West Flash?
I can't recall, who did the voice of Barry in the New Frontier film? I liked that choice for Barry.

I didn't recall who did that voice in New Frontier, so I checked on IMDb....and it was my absolute best pick for a Barry Allen voice, Neil Patrick Harris. He would be my choice for a live-action Flash film as well.

I like NPH as Barry as well, but he's getting up in years and I'm not sure Warner Brothers would be willing to cast him for an ongoing live action franchise. They'd probably want a younger Flash.
Wouldn't be a problem for voice casting, though, so there's that. He'd make a good Barry while Michael Rosenbaum should remain as Wally.

I keep forgetting that NPH is around 40....but to an old guy like me that still seems young. You are right though - they likely would cast younger for live action, now that I'm reminded he would likely be in his mid-40's before a first solo movie could be produced.

Yeah, whenever I see Flash casting lists I almost never recognize the young actors people want to play Barry and Iris. THAT makes me feel old

I tried to put myself in the mind of the people who make the DC Animation movies. So, I tried to eliminate any cliched fanboy casting, but also keeping it within the mid-tier star status of the actors that those films tend to get (but also having enough name recognition that the fan community would recognize). As an extra challenge, I tried to avoid casting actors who already voiced the role. Barry was the most difficult to settle on.
I also toyed with the idea of casting some "name" voice actors who have a bit of range when it came to the villains.
The Flash of Two Worlds
Barry Allen....David Blue Jay Garrick....Jack Coleman Joan Garrick....Kate Mulgrew Iris West....Jewel Staite The Thinker....Dan Castellaneta The Fiddler....Seth Green The Shade....Billy West

I'm for any cast that includes Seth Green (actually the full cast sounds great)!
btw - While Kate Mulgrew is well known to a lot of folks for her Star Trek work as Captain Janeway, her big breakthrough role was on a soap opera called Ryan's Hope in the 1970's. Back then, a lot of college-age folks would watch soaps during their free time, and she was a stand-out performer even then.
This thread is a LOT of fun to read! More casting ideas are MOST welcome here!
