So what does everyone think about the supposed cancellation of The Flash? Think they're going to restart it after flash point or just want to re number it?

This is just to help push the Flashpoint event. The book will be back after the event ends

I like the current book. I like the art in it and I like the story telling but I want a book that comes out on time every month. So replace whoever is the reason the book is coming out late so we can get The Fastest Man Alive out on time.

Here in Scotland we get it even later! Been enjoying the recent run, but dismayed at the fact that wally has had very little to do since the new book started

Welcome to the board
I agree so far that has been my biggest complaint with the new series. Hopefully he'll get a bigger role in flash point.

I guess it requires a certain major event to jumpstart a series more. Green Lantern amped up after Blackest Night, so I feel like that's what they are doin with The Flash. I hope they don't cancel it altogether, Flash is too rich of a character to cancel a series on. Hope the rumor is false, or they will do something after Flashpoint.

Yeah, hopefully it's just a hiatus. Either that, or they're gonna renumber it like they did with Wonder Woman or something.

My guess is a renumber as well - makes the most sense. And, it would be a nice nod to the history of the Flash, since the numbers actually go back to the Golden Age.

My only problem with the renumbering theory is I dont want them to start canceling other title just to renumber them.

It's clearly coming back...but the question is, why "cancel" it if they're just going to pick up where they left off afterward. Why not just put it on hiatus?
They could retitle it with #13 ("The Reverse-Flash"), or start numbering over again at 1, or do some sort of combined numbering. Or pick up after Flashpoint with the miniseries, "Flash: Secret Origin."

DC's announced that Geoff Johns is leaving The Flash after Flashpoint. <-- (That's a link. Can someone fix the theme so that links are actually visible? Thanks!) Some thoughts I posted on my blog earlier: I’m of mixed feelings on this. On one hand, I’ve been disappointed with the relaunched series. There’s quite a bit about the Rebirth-era Flash that I haven’t liked, and my favorite aspect, in fact, was the fantastic art by Francis Manapul. So bringing in someone new — perhaps someone more interested in telling stories about a speedster than telling me how wonderful this particular speedster is — is probably something I’d welcome. Plus with his job as Chief Creative Officer, chances are that Geoff Johns has been awfully busy, which may have contributed to the now-infamous delays. That said, what stands out the most for me about The Flash vol.3 are the missed opportunities. I wanted to read “Murder in Gorilla City.” I wanted to read those backup stories featuring Wally West (I’m still waiting to see him “kick ass,” as Geoff Johns promised a year and a half ago) and those Kid Flash solo stories by Sterling Gates. I wanted to read about Abra Kadabra’s other enemies scattered across the centuries. I thought “Mara Thawne” was a cool name for a villain. Presumably, we won’t even see The Flash: Secret Origin, which Geoff Johns has said on several occasions that he wants to do. Most of all, I wanted to believe (wasn’t convinced, but wanted to believe) that everything I didn’t like about Geoff Johns’ take on The Flash was part of a long-term plan that would have some sort of payoff. For that to happen, he had to be committed to the character long-term. Now we know that Flashpoint is the endgame. That’s a lot for the next four issues to live up to.

Have to agree with having mixed feelings. Like Kelson, my favorite part of the latest (now obsolete?) relaunch was Francis Manapul's art. I'm an old fan (collected comics back when they were 12 cents) and no one had given me a Barry Allen Flash as good as Carmine Infantino until I saw Manapul's artwork. It gave a feel to the speed of the Flash that truly captivated me. But, the stories have really just been re-establishing Barry for newer readers and getting us ready for Flashpoint.
Flashpoint itself looks good so far....my real worry is what happens after, even if Flashpoint finishes up as well as it started. After all, "52" was followed by "Countdown". Just please let the next Flash re-launch be better than that....

If the new team can give us good stories and be on time then I'm all for the change. I've only been into comics since The Flash Rebirth and the delays have almost made me quit on more then one occasion. I haven't really had a problem with the current series because I haven't had much to compare them too. I liked Francis Manapul's art but once Scott Kollins jumped on board the comics started coming out after only two weeks instead of being pushed back even further. So I can only assume that it was Manapul's art.

One of the things I was thinking when they returned Barry was, "after he and Iris had settled down some he could start investigating a series of serial killings that revolved around his post death of Iris Life," The eventual killer would be revealed to be Fiona Webb who read a report in the papers of Central City Forensics expert Barry Allen returning from Witness Protection

That would have been a most interesting storyline. It will be interesting to see how long they keep Barry and Iris apart in the DCnU - hopefully not too long, since getting them together might speed up Wally's return as well.
