"There is a bit of a Silver Age feel to this story, which works for me – two superhero buddies are pulled through an amazing teleportation device into a battle against space monsters while they try to save a group of kids. But, this is handled with a New 52 sensibility – and the payoff is most welcome here. The reason they are back on Arena World after all this time? Well, of course there is unfinished business…and that’s where we come back to today. This story is an affirmation of the long-standing friendship of Barry and Hal – and testament to the power this duo brings to any fight". speedforce.org/2013/07/barry-hals-meeting-52-road-toarena-world-review-flash-annual-2/Great review. However, I think you should've said a little more about second story. I loved this annual. It reminds me of Waid's The Brave and The Bold that I just adore. I'd love a Hal+Barry series. And I loved both stories. The second made me think on how short stories like that with a vibe à la Batman Black and White should be constant in The Flash series. I believe Barry Allen needs to get a lot of atention from many talented artists so we can get more stories like those. Specially like the second one, that showed us a little more on the perception common people have of the Flash.

Great point - and I do regret not saying more about that excellent second story in the annual. That story was well done and very thought provoking. Thanks for posting the link here and for your own comments about the book. More comments (and reviews) are very welcome here!

Everything about this issue was fun. I laughed several times, and am seriously hoping we can get a Flash-Green Lantern title, or mini-series, or at least let these two characters guest star in each other's titles more. And the backup did a great job of how effective and interesting the Flash can be with small, simple problems.
I was a little sad that this issue took place outside of the main Reverse-Flash story line, but everything was done so well here, I didn't mind paying the extra $2.

Ditto all of that, a great issue....thought this annual was better than last year's...becuz it was a "stand alone".
