The story seems good from the get-go, and the "no-name" artist's work is decent...so I'm in the slipstream!

I can't help but think that it is O.M.A.C. (from Infinite Crisis) that has something to do with this.....

Issue 26 of Green Arrow begins "The Outsiders War" arc....which will take Ollie in directions never gone before! New ideas and theories behind "the island", his being stranded there for 5 years, his Father's death, and archery.....Join the adventure for "the arrow", and meet "The Outsiders"....will GA join their "War"?....

Good review! I was impressed with the Barry/Iris angle as well, and appreciate that The Flash's first appearance doesn't take place in Gotham....something that irritated me about Green Arrow #25.
I share your sentiments about the Manapul/Booch run on The Flash, and hope that the next Creative Team will be even half of what The Man & Booch were. If it's anything like the Green Lantern titles & Green Arrow, then DC will have a fine writer/artist team taking over.

Nice collections everyone!! And the Blob rocks! I know he's not DC, but he's just cool...that is quite a Villains collection Dillonmania!
I have a decent, but embarassingly small collection I may post in the near future....but is nothing compared to those posted here.

I'll have to wait until I read The Flash #25 to be sure, but Batman: Zero Year could just be called "Zero Year". However, I'm sure DC will sell more copies if Batman's name is on the cover....so there you go. <<<SPOILERS AHEAD>>><<<SPOILERS AHEAD>>>If what happened in GA #25 is any indication, DC has decided that at least some of their Heroes made their debut in Gotham during Zero Year. One of those Heroes is Green Arrow.....Oliver Queen returns to the world of the living after being thought dead for 5 years, and immediately dons a semi-rookie-looking-green-hood-&outfit to travel to Gotham to save his Mother. He gets into a scuffle with a crazy criminal in Gotham who is trying to take his Mom hostage and meets Batman, who is attempting to thwart the same villain for the same reason. The two have an interesting discussion while beating down said criminal. It was an interesting issue, but I hope they don't have all characters (like, for example....The Flash) making debuts in Gotham with Batman.

This is a much better scenario than having an Arrow episode serve as a pilot....for the reasons stated already, but most importantly for me (as a GA fan) is keeping the world of Arrow free from superpowers for the time being. I think it would hurt the show to have superpowered beings at the moment.
As a Flash Fan though, it's awesome news that they can now tell the entire origin of The Flash in his own pilot!!

I'm hoping that the future Flash is Wally West....if he's not, it's okay...

I would love to see Harold Porter back doing the artwork, with Peter Tomasi writing.....I know that's a "Dream Team" we probably won't see, if the Green Lantern franchise Creative changes is any indication.
It looks as though DC is trying to bring forth new talent, looking for the next big name star....which I'm fine with, who knows? Maybe our next creative team will have a Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Mark Waid, or Loeb/McGuiness...

It kind of makes me sad that they're leaving, but I'll remember they're run as one of the Best in The Flash that I've ever seen!

This awesome series just keeps getting better!! A touching moment and a great "evolution" in character for Lying Cat.....Sophie (a former child prostitute rescued by The Will, Gwendolyne, & Lying Cat) contemplates her life as any six year-old does. Lying Cat; up to this point thought to only "instinctively" say "Lying" whenever someone is less-than-truthful, lays in the grass half asleep/half listening to Sophie.
Sophie; after musing about future dreams, begins to share her feelings of being victimized. Although she is telling the truth about how she feels, Lying Cat says "Lying"..... reassuring her that all that happened was not her fault, and that she doesn't need to feel that way.
It was a touching moment for me, and left me teary-eyed the more I thought about it.....Lying Cat knows Sophie is telling the truth about how she feels, but chooses to say "Lying" out of a sense of love and care for her, to help her see that it doesn't have to be the truth. A wonderful "evolution" in character for Lying Cat!!
It also shows Brian K. Vaughn & Fiona Staples' willingness to tackle very tough issues. Don't get me wrong, it's entertainment and great fiction....but here & there they reveal ideas and theories that show they are not afraid to add some of their person to their work.
If you are not reading & collecting Saga, please take a few minutes to peruse an issue in your local comic book shop and fall in love with the best comic book in the Industry.

Great Review Ed! I agree with your take on this issue. I focused (like DallinTurner mentioned) on what was in the issue, and not on what I thought might be missing.....
<<<<<(Spoilers ahead)>>>>>
I liked the focus on the emotion of the event, rather than some physical altercation. When Iris calls Reverse Flash a "Monster", brother realizes he's not saving his relationship with his sister, but fracturing it forever. At the end of the issue, he seems to have forgotten that moment (as we all have experienced in our lives as well) and wants to do the same all over again if he gets the chance....but I think that is because he's already ruined his relationship with Iris for the previous murders committed as Reverse Flash.
While a knock-down, throw-down between the two would have been epic for the eyes, it would have been lacking in the heart.
What I found very interesting in the issue was The Flash's theory that running forward channelling R-F's energies from the Speedforce would "right the wrongs" is subjective at best. I expect at some point in the future The Flash will try this with a less than desired outcome......but it didn't reverse the previous murders, only Daniel & Iris' Father being murdered.
I will truly miss Francis Manapul's artwork & Brian Buccellato's colors. They create a perfect blend of beauty and action that tells stories in a most unique way. Good Luck to them on Detective Comics!!

I hope an Arrow appearance will bring Flash's numbers up a little. It doesn't look promising though....Arrow's success hasn't translated into monthly sales for the Green Arrow title (It's numbers jumped a little a few months ago, but that was because of a creative-team change).
