I would be interested to see how Volume 1 (Move Forward) sold in Hardcover & Tpb....depending on how DC views sales numbers for their collections, maybe they are pleased.
DC seems to be happy with these sales numbers though, because Manapul is still the writer/artist. Considering the number of creative changes on other titles....The Flash must be making "higher-ups" happy.

I'm really leaning toward the opinion that DC should "cut back" the amount of titles they are releasing every month....The New 52 is Old, let it go. Scale back to titles selling more than 25k per month, and wait a while....then try introducing a few new ones. This revolving door of cancellations that now has seen 20+ titles is hurting rather than helping....
Just as a side note....for all of the sub-par titles they have introduced and then cancelled....one that would be selling well above the cancellation line is a second Flash title starring Wally West. Just saying. Politics suck.

Shadowman is quickly becoming my favorite on-going....amazingly well written, with good artwork.Seized by the dark energies of a mysterious loa, Jack Boniface is transformed into the Shadowman....the last line of defense between our world and the nightmare parallel world known as the Deadside.
Thrust into a world he doesn't know, Shadowman must battle the mysterious group known as the Brethren, and come face-to-face with the necromancer Master Darque. Will Shadowman learn enough fast enough to protect this world from the nightmare that lies just beyond us in another dimension? .....

The on-going series by Matt Kindt, published by Dark Horse. This hardcover graphic novel collects the first 6 issues, plus the #0 issue.
Meru was on flight 815, and like everyone else on that flight that day....she can't remember anything that happened in her life before then. 121 passengers entered the plane, only 120 passengers exited. Join Meru as she journeys across the world in pursuit of this missing passenger, chased by the CIA, and some Immortals....will she find the truth behind the mysterious event of flight 815? Or, something else entirely?

Great Review (@ tmstash.com)!! I loved the first issue, and really enjoyed JMS's comments about Joe Comics and how he wants his titles to be presented (on the last couple of pages).
I'm pretty much hooked on this series after #1....

J. Michael Straczynski's new monthly from Image Comics is released today....Ten Grand!
From what I can tell in some advance reviews....it's an ex-mob enforcer who now fights "other-worldly" entities...Angels, demons, etc. Some other Comic Book sites have said that it is "what DC should be doing with Constantine."

DC seems to be "out of sorts" recently. The many, many Creator changes and mix-ups....this WTF that seems overly "gimmicky"....they just seem to have lost direction.
Thankfully Manapul & Booch have been stable, and The Flash has been allowed to just keep running without interference (for now)
.....I remember an article from years ago, when J. Michael Straczynski was writing The Amazing Spiderman for Marvel Comics. He commented how much he hated crossover events, because editorial would make him do re-writes and force him to change his story to fit what they were doing somewhere else rather than just focusing on a great selling comic book. It doesn't surprise me at all that when JMS wanted to write a monthly title again (he's written 2 best-selling Superman: Earth 1 graphic novels), he chose to do it at Image Comics.
The New 52 "honeymoon" is over, and DC better find their footing fast....Marvel has gained back all the ground they lost and more, as DC falls to percentages equal to where they were before they launched the New 52 (less than a third of the market). Image, IDW, & Dark Horse are gaining ground behind them, and if DC keeps suffering....it may not be the "Big 2" for much longer.

As some of you may have heard, there was a major "incident" involving app-banning of Saga #12 because of a couple "stamp-sized" homosexual images on the first couple of pages of this latest issue. Just wanted to let you all know to "not believe the hype".
Surprisingly, after having a giant One-Eyed Monster showing everything he has in full-frontal nudity, and several sex scenes involving the various characters in on-going story arcs, including The Will on Sextillion (a "pleasure" planet)....I'm actually surprised that one of Saga's issues wasn't "banned" before #12.
Sage is an "adult/mature" title, it's not for children or teens. That said, most of what you will see can be found on most television channels any day of the week.
Don't let this "hype" distract you from the greatness of this title. In my mind, Vaughan & Staples are creating the best comic book title in the industry....period. The story, the art, and the universe building that is ongoing in this title far outweighs any publicity for a couple of small images (that are in a dream, btw).

For the Gorilla Grodd fan? Six Gun Gorilla begins in June, and is being published by Boom! Studios.
A gun-toting Gorilla with 2 six-shooters...aiming for justice. If Boom! does this title with the same devotion as they do Planet of the Apes, it should be great!
Based on the Pulp story printed in 1939 (that date may be 1937, I can't remember) by an unknown author. Six Gun Gorilla is a long-forgotten public domain character. I guess only two issues from the original pulp magazine are still in existence (both in British museums).

You need "ice in your veins" to put down the big shots in the Final Four....only one Captain meets the criteria! (that is some really bad trash talk...lol)

Great article Speedster!! I have been a Flash fan for a while now, and have loved both Wally & Barry. My first exposure to The Flash was in Grant Morrison's JLA title. I then started collecting Flash trades written by Geoff Johns (aka Wally West Flash). Although I enjoyed Wally's character, I was truly in love with The Flash.....which is why I don't think it really bothered me at all when they replaced Wally with Barry. Maybe Johns' had conditioned me with bringing back Hal Jordan as Green Lantern, or perhaps it was Morrison's "larger than life" style of writing the JLA characters, I don't know....
I love the new title & Barry's character, but it's truly the mythological & symbolic hero-type of The Flash that truly finds a home in my heart. If DC announced tomorrow that Barry would be replaced by Wally, it wouldn't really bother me.....I enjoy and love The Flash, not Barry or Wally.

Hawkman by Johns and Rags Morales is my favorite Johns title besides his run on JSA. It also gave me a new appreciation for the character. Hate to hear this title is being cancelled but not really surprised by it. I never read of any of it, something about the new concept and his new look kinda turned me off on the title. I actually enjoyed the new look and the first couple of issues of The Savage Hawkman, but it quickly waned as more and more changes began to manifest (much like w/ Green Arrow). The story just fell on it's face.....I think they made changes to a lot of characters without "forecasting" how many stories they could do as time went on.
Hopefully Geoff Johns will begin "tweeking" Hawkman, Green Arrow, etc. in the new JLA title. Writers can then follow his "lead" in the future.

I liked the ending of this arc....simple and unexpected. The Gorillas seem split now, and Savitar is still apparently alive. Gorilla Grodd in the Speedforce.....which may or may not be an issue down the road for The Flash.
Turbine joining the Rogues would be awesome, but ditching Captain Cold would not. Liking the "tension" now between Iris, Barry, & Patty.
.....and most of all, loving the new look of Reverse Flash!!!!

Great Review xBarryxAllenx! I like that it was a surprise, unexpected, and new "power" shown by The Flash....but I'm not sure I like the "power" itself (...if that makes any sense?). I suppose since Superman has his Fortress, Batman has his cave, etc....so why shouldn't The Flash have his own place too?
I enjoyed the issue greatly, and the art is just awesome!

Aspen Comics is celebrating their 10 year Anniversary with 10 new Titles in 2013!! Starting in February, and continuing through the rest of the year.
I must admit, I haven't ever read any Aspen Title before....and have only heard of Fathom when discussing Michael Turner's art (may he rest in peace). After checking out their new stuff; however, I may pick up a few just to see how they are...
You can check them out for yourself at aspencomics.com
