.....I was getting so depressed I almost starting crying.....of course I'm only 16 days behind April Fools Day and I didn't notice the date!
What's great is that with all the stuff that DC is/has done with their Universe.....I would believe they would try all of that!

I wasn't as impressed with #8 as I was by Chang's #7.

As a fan of The Flash since Geoff Johns started writing the title way back when, I've always pondered how the Rogues could successfully prevail against a hero who can travel so fast that he can take the guns/wand/flute/tricks out of their hands before they can think to pull the trigger/wave/pipe/activate their respective weapons? That's not a knock on the Rogues, I think they are great, my favorite villains!
I think it's awesome that Manapul & Booch are keeping The Flash just a little slower so as to add to the story....it shows their commitment to bringing their absolute best to this character each and every issue......and gives the Rogues a legitimate chance for victory.

You review is "spot on". #7 just keeps building the foundation of this wonderful series.....tearing the fabric of space & time on a treadmill pays great homage to previous volumes of The Flash.
Gorillas, Turbine, & The Flash crossing dimensions &/or time is in a word.....AWESOME!!

The Incredible Hulk (...."Hulk is Strongest there Is!!")
Started collecting The Incredible Hulk again when it re-launched. I am enjoying the writing talents of Jason Aaron thus far, and the artwork (mostly Silvestri & Portacio) has been very good.
The story has a "mad scientist-monster island" direction to it, and has been quite entertaining.....there is even a scene of The Hulk fighting a irradiated chimp who flings radioactive monkey poo at him.
I enjoyed Greg Pak's work on The Incredible Hulk as well, especially Planet Hulk & World War Hulk. I also liked Jeff Loeb's 26-issue run on Hulk.

The Manhattan Projects #1 is completely MIND-BLOWING!!! I'd always kinda been "iffy" on Johnathan Hickman in the past, but this issue was great. The art had a "Frank Quitely" feel to it, and the story is just phenomenal!
We are introduced to The Manhattan Projects, which is much more than just a bomb. Top research scientists from around the globe are working on any number of world-changing ideas. We meet Robert Oppenheimer, the civilian head of The M.P......although we learn that he may not actually be him.
To me, it's Fringe meets American Psycho, with a touch of Van Helsing.

I like Weather Wizard. Still has the wand, and I think the raincoat adds a little "pazazz" from the art standpoint (a raincoat "blustering" in the wind/storm/tornado/etc. just looks cool and adds that visual feel of the power of the "weather").

Still Collecting: The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Red Lanterns, & one more issue of O.M.A.C.
I've dropped Deathstroke, New Guardians, & The Savage Hawkman. That puts me at -6 now for the "New 52" (after O.M.A.C. ends).
The titles I dropped weren't necessarily bad, but Image Comics has come out with so much great stuff recently (Manhattan Projects, Saga, & Thief of Thieves that are new on my pull list), and the Incredible Hulk re-launch from Marvel.

I've been enjoying the delightfully entertaining tales of Usagi Yojimbo, and the horrific masterpiece that is The Walking Dead.

I wondered if anyone read the first issue of Thief of Thieves, and what they thought of it? I enjoyed it.
Same question for Conan The Barbarian #1?

You can tell from everything you read or see of these two wonderful creators, that they love The Flash and they're jobs! It is almost child-like (in a good way!), and it gets me more excited for the next month's issue everytime I read something they've said or see them in an interview.

I liked Mark Waid, but mostly for his "Captain America" run with Ron Garney. His other stuff has been kinda take-it-or-leave-it.....There isn't anything written by Jeph Loeb (particularly his stuff with Tim Sale) which I haven't liked. .......Hands down, though, I'm a Dan Jurgens fan. I've only enjoyed one thing from Waid....JLA: Tower of Babel. I've just never been able to get into any of his other work. Kingdom Come....<yawn>, his work on The Flash....boring, and I didn't bother collecting the new Daredevil title....for fear of Waid. Though a lot of people do like him, so maybe it's just me....lol.
I've always enjoyed Jeph Loeb's writing....though I'm kinda sad he's at Marvel, not writing that much anymore.
I liked Jurgens art on Green Arrow, and you can't argue against his history with Superman.

Glad to hear someone else is a fan of Jurgens returning to Superman. I like his work as well and am looking forward to Dan returning to Supes. Jurgens & Giffen did an "o.k." job on their 3-issue Green Arrow arc, but I think their style of storytelling will work much better with Supes.

I loved Booch's great line, "He's not your daddy's Captain Cold."
Manapul & Buccellato work so well together, I hope they never split up as a creative team!!

Loved the issue! I noticed the blue streaking that appears on The Flash as well, and was impressed that they've made Captain Cold an equal to The Flash. I think his powers are fantastic, and really challenge The Flash....changes like this could make the Rogues Gallery of The Flash even greater than it already is! To quote Booch, "He's not your daddy's Captain Cold."
The artwork is stunning as always, and the writing is wonderful. I'm more impressed every issue with Manapul's & Buccellato's writing.

I used to have a pet answer...Geoff Johns, but now I'm convinced it really depends on what is being written and who is being written.
Geoff Johns is, with no doubt, master of the "rebirth". However, I've found that I enjoy Rob Kirkman's writing on The Walking Dead or Richard Starkings' writing in The Elephantmen. I like Jason Aaron's writing in The Incredible Hulk, but hated his writing in PunisherMax.
I guess what I'm saying is Geoff Johns writing Green Lantern is my favorite author.....

The Elephantmen series from Image Comics is my favorite "Indie" book. Extremely difficult to collect the monthlies (outside of Cali or London), Richard Starkings weaves a masterful tale following the lives of several Elephantmen. They are genetic animal-human hybrids created by a "mad" scientist for Central Africa's nations, and brainwashed into expert killers. Used in the war between Africa & China, fighting in disease-ravaged Europe, ultimately rescued by the United Nations, and now rehabilitated & living among humanity....the Elephantmen are controversial and feared. The artwork is stunning, beautiful and breath-taking! Artists like Moritat, Ladronn, Marian Churchland, & Boo Cook have contributed some of the most admirable comic book art outside of The Flash. An awesome title featuring some of the best art & writing in the industry..... Elephantmen is one of those hidden treasures that must be revealed!! *check out the Elephantmen's website: hipflask.com/
